The swing is a very important part of your golf game and it determines if your scores are going to look good or if you are going to be struggling through the day. Many players ,beginners and pros alike, spend the maximum amount of practice time working on this aspect of the play. Did you know that it is possible to work this on your own without the costs of expensive training? Training devices can be used to perfect your swing technique, and you can practice with them on the course.

The golf impact indicator is one such accessory to help improve the golf swing. This can be used with any of your golf clubs from the kit bag. It is a simple device that is placed on the face of the club, which helps you determine if you are striking the ball at the right angle with the club. Basically, once you play the shot, a mark appears on the indicator to tell you which area of the club head has in fact hit the ball. If you miss the right area of the club, the ball will travel flatter and probably a shorter than desired distance as well. This sweet spot on the club head is that area which has been designed to strike the ball with. It is vital when you are putting.

You could invest in other forms of swing aids as well, some that are a bit on the costlier side and more advanced. You could invest in training devices such as twisted railings that allow your hands to move only in the right paths. A great training aid is a weight that can be slipped on to an iron and here it remains right over the club’s head. The extra weight basically helps strengthen your swing power much like an exercise, and this is a good way to practice before a game of golf.

But do not get the impression that every training device needs to be costly and complicated to use. You could use some of the tips given below to improve your swinging skills with a very easy to use and simple process. This will definitely help you improve on balance, which is a key area you need to work on to improve the swing:

1. Keep a coin on your left foot if you are a right handed layer, or your right foot if you play left handed.

2. Swing the club and see if the coin falls off your foot.

3. If it has flown off, see where it fell.

4. If the coin has slid towards your toe, then it means that you have your foot raised too much during the back swing motion.

5. If the coin has totally fallen off the foot it means you probably completed the shot on your heel.

6. When it hasn’t moved much you have done well, and this simple exercise can be used to see where you are going wrong with the swing.

Tips For Your Golf Set Up

All of us are striving to find the golf tips to give us the perfect golf swing. This is as true of beginning golfers as well as well accomplished players. Although there are multiple golf books and golf DVDs of golf tips on the market, most players can improve their golf game by simply paying more attention to what they are doing even before they swing the golf club.

As you watch touring professionals on TV, they take what seems to the majority of us way too much time setting up to the golf ball. Not that we need to take any more time when we play a round of golf, we can be aware of the following golf tips in our golf swing set up:

Golf Tips – Alignment
You have to know where you are going in order to get there. If you are not pointing in the direction that you want the golf ball to start, then you will have to make many manipulations in order to create the ball flight that you want.

You can easily check this in a short practice session on the driving range. As you hit some range balls, lay some clubs on the ground to properly gain your bearings. It will feel different at first. This is good. It means that you are changing something.

Golf Tips – Ball Position
Although there are many theories on where the ball should be at address, most golfers should keep this very simple and keep the club head in the center of their stance. Understand that the club head can change, depending on the type of club that you are using.

When you are swinging the driver, the middle of the driver club head will go in the middle of your stance. By looking at the center of the top of the driver head, since the driver head is the widest, the ball will be placed farther forward in your stance than your irons.

When swinging an iron, again place the center of the club head in the center of your stance. This takes the guess work out of where to place the golf ball and will lead to consistency in your ball striking.

Golf Tips – Balance
This is the most overlooked fundamental throughout the entire golf swing. It is especially important in the setup. If you do not start in proper balance, it is very unlikely you will gain it during the motion.

Balance comes in two forms. Balance needs to be correct from side to side as well as front to back. This is easy to check by moving the weight around on your feet prior to making your golf swing. Once you find your balance, it is not uncommon that you may need to move closer or farther away from the golf ball.

By monitoring these three golf tips in your own golf set up, you will improve your consistency and increase the number of solid golf shots that you hit. Not only will the game become more fun whether you are a beginner golfer or an accomplished player, you will also see you scores improve.

Golf Swing And Your Game

Talent and skill may not be the only two qualities that you require to win a golf tournament. You will need some training aids to get a proper golf swing and to have an overall improvement to your game.

The first training aid to improve golf swing is the weighted club. This club is 2 to 5 lbs. heavier than the clubs normally used to play golf with. The reason for using a heavier club while practising is that you can practice at a slow pace till you get the correct form. And correct form is necessary for a tournament.

Some golfers have a tough time keeping their arms together when executing the swing. If you belong to this category, then you might find the stretchable armband particularly useful. Placing this between your triceps allows you to form a “V” right from the beginning of your swing till the follow through.

The way you hold the club has a lot to do with the way you play the game. It should neither be held too tight or too loose and to help you get the right grip is the “golf grip”. It is a device that is universal and will fit all kinds of clubs. Made of plastic for ease of removal, it is ideally suited for hands that sweat and are slippery.

At times it not your upper body but your foot that requires improvement when you are attempting to do a good swing. It is a golf trainer that improves stance and is especially helpful in reducing sway. It also teaches a golfer to maintain balance, one of the most essential aspects of a proper golf swing.

Other than the training aids mentioned above you have the “Groove Tube Trainer”, the “Grip Wrap Strap” and a host of other items. A better way would be to get a DVD and follow the advice given. A visual aid is better than any verbal instruction.

Use a mirror if you are training indoors and watch your swing to see if it is the proper golf swing. If you find it difficult to execute a swing and watch yourself doing it, get a video recorder, record your swing and play it back to see where you are failing. You might even show it to a professional coach and get his opinion and advice.

Other than watching yourself in the mirror or doing a video recording and watching it, a better way, if you can afford it, is to hire a coach and get golf swing instructions and feedback and advice from him.

Golf clinics are held in many places, which you can attend. But you should be free when these camps are held. Getting the golf swing aids is easy as you can pick them up from a local sports store for under $20.00 apiece. If you are really interested and want to improve your golf swing this shouldn’t be a problem.

Even if the training aids are not available in your local sports store, you can get them online. It might turn out to be less expensive even with the shipping costs included. Check what is available.

Golf swing training aids are sold under many brands. Before purchasing a particular brand compare it with the others for quality, cost and guarantee.

If the opinion of other golf enthusiasts on a particular training aid is good, try it out and see if it improves your game. But whatever aid you use practice is of paramount importance. Practice aids can only help to an extent. What really matters is how you perform without them.
